Financial Aid
Overview
The Waldo International School Financial Aid program is designed to make a Waldo education possible for all families based on demonstrated financial need and the availability of funds. Our goal through this program is to build a school community that prioritizes diversity, making a Waldo education accessible to families from all socioeconomic backgrounds.
Applying for financial aide does not influence admissions decisions; admissions and financial aide eligibility are determined separately. Acceptance into the program and any financial aide awards are communicated simultaneously so that families can make a well-informed decision prior to finalizing enrollment with the school. Financial aid awards are need-based and do not need to be repaid.

How to Apply
Waldo International School uses the Clarity Application to determine a family’s level of financial need based on the information that families share in the application which includes assets, income, expenses, and debts.
To get started, please go to the Clarity Application and create an account. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete. The Clarity Application is also mobile-friendly so you can complete it from anywhere. You are also able to save your progress and return at any time. At the end of the application, there is a $60 fee to submit. Please remember to return to your dashboard after you complete and submit your Clarity Application, as Waldo International School requires you to upload additional tax documentation.
If you need support during the process of completing your Clarity application, there is in-app support available through the “Help” button in the bottom left of the screen, as well as email and phone support at [email protected] or 206-210-3752, in both English and Spanish. The application itself is also fully translated into Spanish.
Families are also encouraged to reach out to [email protected] with any questions regarding the financial aide process.
Scholarships
In addition to our robust Financial Aid Program, Waldo International School is incredibly excited to give back to our Jersey City community by offering scholarships for students in 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Grades. Students interested in applying for the scholarship should follow the below link to access the initial application. Upon receipt of the application, the school will reach out to families directly to request transcripts, recommendation forms completed by the student’s classroom teacher, and to schedule an interview with the student.
Students who are awarded a scholarship will continue to keep their scholarship for all subsequent academic years until they graduate in the 8th Grade, as long as they meet the below requirements:
- Each student must maintain good attendance (they cannot miss more than 20 school days in a year and must arrive at school on time- 5 late arrivals will count as 1 absence).
- Each student would need to complete all assignments and participate in the classroom
- Each student would need to maintain proficient levels of understanding within their school subjects
